Full Moon's Newsflash Vol. 137

FILM THREAT honors Full Moon with multiple award nominations!

In 2020, a year when most movie studios plans for production went ker-plunk, Full Moon went into overdrive making a series of clever, economically produced and subversive satirical fantasy films; controversial in that they tackled the devastation of COVID-19 and the mania of the socio-political landscape and firmly, defiantly flipped the bird.

And while some of the movies received a dose of hate, most viewers approved and the pictures have - in a very short time - they've become modern cult classics. Now, we are THRILLED to announce that two of these pictures have been recognized by legendary counter-culture movie culture site FILM THREAT with multiple nominations in their AWARD THIS! annual awards ceremony recognizing the best and most brazen in indie cinema.

From the FILM THREAT press release:

'"We’re ecstatic having discovered so many incredibly innovative indie films this year. With most Hollywood blockbusters on hold, there’s an opportunity for smaller indie films to rise to the surface and shine, this truly is a new Golden age for independents. The sheer volume of fascinating films we screened tells us independent film is thriving and we couldn’t be happier,' said Chris Gore."

Full Moon's notorious CORONA ZOMBIES has been nominated for "Best Indie Comedy" while CORONA ZOMBIES and its sequel BARBIE & KENDRA SAVE THE TIGER KING are nominated for "Best Film Made During the 2020 Lockdown/Quarantine".

Both films - as well as the third "Barbie & Kendra" picture - BARBIE & KENDRA STORM AREA 51 - can be seen now via the Full Moon Features channel and app as well as Full Moon's Amazon Prime channel and both are also available on disc via FullMoonDirect.com.

FILM THREAT'S AWARD THIS! ceremony will take place at a drive-in in conjunction with the Frida Cinema at the Mess Hall in Tustin, CA on Saturday, April 10th (limited tickets available at AwardThis.com ), and a virtual event for global audiences everywhere can be seen on Sunday, April 18th and it’s free to register for the virtual event here .

Full Moon is just happy to be nominated (but hey, a win or two would be more than welcome!).

Thank you FILM THREAT!
